Hello Everyone,
I have signed up to do something that is - well - outside of my usual comfort zone! I am going Over The Edge in support of Providence Community Library. On Saturday, May 4, I will ride up the elevator in the Regency Plaza apartment building in downtown Providence and then go Over The Edge of the roof to rappel 12 stories (approximately 120 feet) to the ground! I am doing this crazy thing in order to raise $1,000 for Providence Community Library. I work for PCL, so I know that this is a worthy cause! In fact, I can tell you many wonderful - and true - stories of how our nine neighborhood libraries change peoples' lives on a daily basis. They do it by providing materials and services that support literacy and lifelong learning for all the people of Providence. They do it by providing free access to 200 public computers and internet access. They do it by providing language classes, one-on-one coaching and training workshops. And that's just part of what we do! Last year, PCL's libraries were visited by more than 650,000 people, and nearly 70,000 people attended our educational, arts and cultural programs. Help me enable PCL to inspire more people to explore the world of learning!
