Hello Family and Friends,
We have signed up to do something that many of you may think is crazy. We are going Over The Edge, side by side, in support of Providence Community Library. Over The Edge is much like it sounds. We will stand on the roof of the Two Regency Plaza apartment building in downtown Providence and rappel 12 stories to the ground (after gathering our courage and leaning over the building screaming silently ... or maybe not so silently). We have lived in the same 2-family house for 22 years, and in that time have become great friends. Although we've never considered rappelling down the side of our 3-story house; maybe a good warm-up? We also both care very much about PCL; Cheryl is PCL's Library Director and Janet is a consultant for our ESOL program and supports our volunteers.
We are not asking you to rappel the building with us (but you totally can!), but we will need your support to get to the top. We are not only pledging to go Over The Edge, we are also committing to raise $1,800 for Providence Community Library. Check out the event website here www.provcomlib.org/edge.
PCL's nine neighborhood libraries provide critical education services that support literacy and lifelong learning for all the people of Providence. Last year PCL's libraries were visited by more than 650,000 people more than 650,000 people visited PCL's libraries and nearly 70,000 people attended educational and cultural programs there. Help us enable PCL to inspire more people to explore the world of learning!
